My Morning

Today while winterizing some of my flowers and running back and forth to the hardware store to get more stuff, bird netting etc. and we left the front gate open and presently were joined by the Mormons. This was my fault. I should have closed that gate and didn’t. Now, we have a lot of friends who are Mormons and I love them dearly. The don’t stand in my driveway and try to sell me religion. Yes, I KNOW that it says in the bible to spread the gospel but this is more than leaving a flyer in our mailbox or on or the gate. This was a full court press.

It started when one of the mission people said “This is a lovely flower garden you and God have here.” And it went downhill from there. I do not believe in sell religion door to door. I really tried to be nice but I have a hard time with people who try convince little kids that if you drink coffee, tea, alcohol and not smoke or have sex before marriage (ever buy a car before driving it) you will rot in hell and scare them with it. If you do this or that or the other you will never get to the temple and a host of other things. I also have a hard time with women being excluded from the men and meet in separate rooms and are not allowed to hold office in this male dominated world and we are just supposed to act like it doesn’t matter and tend to our womanly duties.

My other beef and those that know me know about this is there taking over of the boy scouts. They did this with Donovan’s group of kicking out the scout master because he believed in allowing gay scouts which at the time was a HUGE no no.  A bunch of them got together and decided this scout master should go. Then when the succeeded they immediately inserted one of there deacons in his place. This started a almost complete ousting of the scout master in the area over one thing or another.  In any event Donovan who like his mother is outspoken about gay folks was almost removed from the scouts on promoting homosexual behavior. This stopped only after I contacted the boy scouts of America back in Irving, TX.  Then things changed quickly and he got to move on to Eagle Scout.

Again I have nothing against them I just feel they should not sell there beliefs nor should I be compelled to follow them.
